MindGate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Short version: MindGate is local-first. Your browsing data stays on your device and is never sent to us. The only network call is license verification if you purchase Pro — and even then, only your license key is transmitted.

What we collect

MindGate stores the following data exclusively in chrome.storage.local on your device:

None of this data is transmitted to us, synced to a server, or accessible to anyone other than you.

What we do not collect

Full URLs or page content of sites you visit
Browsing history
Personal information (name, email, IP address)
Third-party analytics or tracking
Crash reports or telemetry

License verification (Pro only)

If you purchase MindGate Pro, your license key is sent to our server at mindgate-license.vercel.app/api/validate to verify its validity. This request includes:

We do not log IP addresses or associate license keys with personal identity. License records are managed by Polar, our payment processor, for order management and refund purposes.

Revalidation happens at most once every 24 hours via a background alarm. It never runs during navigation to avoid any impact on your browsing speed.

Payments

Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as Merchant of Record. MindGate never receives or stores your payment card details. Polar's privacy policy applies to the checkout experience.

Chrome extension permissions

MindGate requests the following permissions and uses them only as described:

Data retention and deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension from Chrome, which deletes all chrome.storage.local data automatically. There is no cloud backup to delete.

Children

MindGate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
